Transpiler: a word that does not need to exist

Converting a┬áprogramming language to another form, while maintaining┬áthe execution semantics is “translating” or “compiling”.

For example: The first C++ implementation (cfront┬ácirca 1983) was called a “translator” because it translated C++ into C.

There is no need for a new word — we’ve been translating and compiling for more than 60 years.

Boycott “transpiler” — “translator” is enough.
